Bremerton Special Release Fiano 2019

Fiano is a hugely undervalued grape variety. Grown on the volcanic hills of Campania in Southern Italy it turns out exotic, fragrant and richly textural wines with loads of power and impact, another example of just how good Italian grape varieties can be when grown in the right conditions.

Rebecca Wilson at Bremerton has turned out a more elegant version in 2019, a little bit bonier than the classic Italians but still with exotic floral and nectarine fruit plus an almond edge as seen in the best wines from Italy. It’s dry and full-bodied, backed by some quite zesty acidity and has a good balanced finish. It would be well suited to a roasted vegetable tart.
