Brockenchack Charli Jaye Chardonnay 2019

Whoever said that family is everything may well have had this wine business in mind. Not only are the wines named after
family members, usually grandchildren, but also the name of the business, Brockenchack, is a combination of their names. This single vineyard Chardonnay from the Eden Valley, planted in 2012, is named after the family’s youngest grandchild. The wine spends 18 months in French oak.

Colour is gold and straw. A lovely aromatic nose with good oak integration. Stonefruit, nutmeg and ginger here. Some tropical touches. Those who don’t mind a touch of oak, and there are plenty of fans of that style out there, will love this riper style. Richly flavoured and stonefruit notes really emerge on the palate with orange rind and quince. Quite delicious. Drink over the next two to three years. Really enjoyed this and it would make a terrific match for a richer seafood dish.
