An intriguing wine this and more lightly framed than generally found in the Terre à Terre reds. Roughly 2/3 Cabernet Franc and 1/3 Shiraz, it has an appealing delicacy and fragrance with blackberry, cedar and baked earth fruits, the Shiraz more dominant at this stage of its life. It’s then powerful and juicy, with dark, fleshy blackberry with cocoa and meaty, peppery spice flavours supported by crisp acidity and mouthcoating tannins providing good aging potential. Overall it has not quite come together and needs a couple more years to show all it has to offer.
