Cue approaching summer days and lazy afternoons with a glass of…well, you can connect the dots with quite a number of smart, well-priced wines out there. On Point pinot grigio definitely belongs in such company. The $20 price tag is more than attractive, so, too, the wine’s strong varietal presence in the glass.
Textbook Grigio fresh-cut apple and pear, with an arresting thread of saline and rock pool aromas. Plenty of refreshing crunchy acidity in the glass will satisfy during those lazy afternoons in the sun. Flavours are clean, persistent and there’s even a light, textural mouthfeel running across the palate. Grigio fulfils its role nicely. A tidy wine for summer days ahead.
