Cape Mentelle Icon Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

Share

The Endeavour Group acquired Cape Mentelle from Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton earlier this year. It has moved fast to make some changes to its new release wines, including Icon status for what were the previous super premium wines. The Icon 2020 cabernet is certainly impressive, a powerful and powerfully persuasive interpretation of Margaret River’s premier red grape variety. Solid purple-garnet hues. A top vintage brings out the full array of regional aromas and fruit intensity: sage, thyme, marri bush, leafy and floral with bramble, black cherry, blackberry fruit lift. The palate is juicy and rich, plush and beautifully trimmed by fine, ripe tannins. Consolidates effortlessly, introducing earth and tarmac, dusty cacao and deep herbals while led by some scintillating Cabernet fruit.
