Cape Mentelle Zinfandel 2020

Share

No edges, no obvious oak, no heavy handedness, no over-the-top alcohols here. If you have been a victim of Zinfandel in the past – and many of us have been – feel free to re-engage with this absolute charmer. A Zinfandel of some elegance, the Cape Mentelle winemakers – and viticulturists – have outdone themselves. Elegance lives here and I love the weave of spice and fruit – almost playful – the white pepper, the sage, dark, dark fruit and chocolate all well controlled and integrated. So smooth in fine tannin presence, finishing with aromatic lift and length.
