Castelli Single Vineyard Frankland River Cabernet Malbec 2022

Smooth, elegant, and stylish; that’s what you get with this outstanding wine off Frankland River’s Riversdale Vineyard. Captures so much about the terroir from this special plot of dirt that continually throws up great wines. Bright red fruits with a little blackcurrant Cabernet varietal influence. There’s a fairly typical ironstone rust-like character here which adds enormously to the palate complexity. It’s a powerful and poised wine but it’s not big. It extends with an almost laconic effortless ease to a long finish.
