Craggy Range Te Muna Martinborough Sauvignon Blanc 2025

Share

Many years ago, Craggy Range made the decision to plant their Sauvignon Blanc vineyard on the lower terraces of Te Muna Road in the Martinborough region, as opposed to the more popular Marlborough. It has done them no harm, as it seems that, vintage after vintage, it sits among the very best from New Zealand. The cool climate of this region, more traditionally known for its Pinot Noir, helps imbue the wines with a sense of elegance. Pale lemon with green flecks, the nose is a wonderfully appealing mix of lemon curd, citrus, spices, hints of grapefruit, minerality and a touch of the tropicals, most notably passionfruit. Supple, generous and approachable in style, there is a fine line of acidity adding to the energy and freshness of the wine. Layered and persistent, the flavours come in waves. A cracking Sauvignon Blanc which is already exhibiting a little more complexity than we anticipate with this variety. Enjoy over the next half dozen years.
