A deep and firm style of Cabernet. Blackberry coulis, plum juice, brambles and dried bay leaves. It is the kind of wine that feels nostalgic and warming. In the mouth, the fruit is concentrated, with dark chocolate, charred plums and plenty of sticky tannins. There is also a split-lip, blood-sausage savouriness that is wildly endearing. Morish, even. Given the structure is still so charged at its ripe old age of a year-ish, I would suggest a big fat piece of juicy steak to drink it with. And a decant (or aerator) to get the best out of it.
