Crittenden Savagnin Macvin #5 2022

Equal parts aged flor Savagnin and current vintage Savagnin then fortified with grape spirit. I’m like a broken record, I’ve said it time and time again. But this is the wine you never knew you needed in your life. The PERFECT wine to bring to a dinner party, because it invokes conversation, has the ability to pair well with an array of courses and will keep the party going into the early morning hours. The wine brings forth aromas of treacle tart, upside down pineapple cake and baklava. Its scintillating lift of acidity perfectly compliments the bright fruit nectar. Brazil nut skin, dukkah and brandy oranges. This would be heavenly with caramelised fatty salmon belly or just as delicious with a wash rind cheese and kumquat jam. Move over Botrytis sweet wines, this is my pick time and time again.
