This is a limited release wine from Passing Clouds that only sees the light of day when the seasons are good. Although this was a reasonably challenging year, the wines have turned out pretty good. It’s from a single vineyard, 100% Shiraz, and has received 11 months in French oak. On the nose, you get a mix of red berry and spice with a slightly cooler climate pepperiness as well. It has a delicious, juicy mouthfeel and a lifted, vibrant finish supported by fine tannins. It’s an elegantly crafted wine with the potential to cellar for a few years, but up to 10 years would be just about perfect.
