CW Wines School House Headmaster Shiraz 2019

Coonawarra shiraz is mostly overshadowed by the region’s cabernet sauvignon – easy to do given the decades of accolades the latter has garnered. Don’t do that here, as this northern Coonawarra grown iteration delivers much of what shiraz can do in the better blocks of the Limestone Coast, and sits very comfortably in its cooler climate styling. Plenty of bright fruits of the forest berry vibes going on, tethered to a typical regional dusty background. Good energy in the palate and vitality in the backbone, lip-smacking fruit and fine tannin finishing touches, all within a medium to full bodied style.
