Devitt & Moore Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Share

Coonawarra Cabernet with some development under its belt, two years in new French hogsheads and barriques (34%) with the remainder a mix of older French and Hungarian hogsheads and barriques. Under diam, from a terrific vintage and great to already have some age to it. Inky black, the colour of cherry-cola with still plenty of oak here that will take some years to fully integrate but is on its way. Chocolate, aniseed, mocha, cloves, tobacco leaves and coffee beans. A supple palate with a seductive texture. This is well balanced, with silky tannins, good intensity, and very good length. Fifteen years. Top effort.
