Feudo Arancio Nero d’Avola 2018

Nero d’Avola – One of but not the only gift to the world of wine from Sicily. It’s widely grown in the baking hot climate of Sicily’s low lying vineyards and makes many big, bold and rustic wines. It’s got a Shiraz like generosity of fruit but there is also a savoury, almost meaty edge plus an acid kick making it very well suited to anything meaty.

Feudo Arancio is a good value wine to keep an eye out for, and the 2018 Nero d’Avola is a cracker. It is deeply coloured and has luscious blackberry and inky fruit aromas. There is also a herbal and peppery edge. On the palate it also shows luscious and fleshy generous black cherry fruits. It is long too with that fruit underpinned by some firm tannins. This is an Italian crowd pleaser and hard to put down.
