Fowles Are you Game? Pinot Noir 2023

“A dash of Sangiovese” (5%), as noted on the back label, has been added to spice things up. Indeed, it jumps out of the glass like a Pinot on steroids, with bright, lively notes of wild strawberry, Satsuma plum, cherry cola and red liquorice. On the palate, there’s more cinnamon and a hint of fresh rosemary, with tannins that are slightly more angular – this is where the Sangiovese influence becomes more apparent, steering the wine toward a more savoury, meaty, bresaola-like finish. An interesting approach.
