GIOSO Langhe Nebbiolo 2021

Share

Sitting under the Sordo umbrella of great Nebbiolo wines, the fruit here is sourced mostly from Roero with a few offcuts out of Barolo. No surprise then that this announces itself with a super intense, dark crimson rose petal bouquet, that old-world term telling of perfume and earth and herbal notes of bouquet garni, thyme and sage to the fore. Totally unique and captivating, as you’d expect, you can smell what is to follow, which is an astonishingly sophisticated marriage of fruit and structure – acidity and fine, fine tannins in sync, side by side, spicy, lingering, perfectly designed for the table where it is an astute gastronomic partner. Fabulous value as well.
