Sitting in the Golding portfolio’s “Market Series” a recognition of the family’s historic ties to the Adelaide Produce Market, this Chardonnay arises out of 2023’s cool vintage, and in comparison to its 2022 forbear is quite restrained and less overt in its ripeness. The spice is still there, but in this year tends more to being a peppery element, and most attractive as a palate seasoning. Fruit-wise, we see the more typical Hills note of white nectarine easing its way across the palate as you sip, a subtle French oak thread of woody spice accented in the finish. A good value proposition.
