Barossa Shiraz, fermented on skins for ten days before 22 months’ maturation in a mix of new and older American oak hogsheads. This is terrific value. A deep, dark maroon hue, the wine is ripe and richly flavoured with notes of blackberries, chocolate, mocha, plums, cocoa powder and aniseed. Quite firm grip with fine acidity, everything is well balanced and there is impressive length. Enjoy this now and for the next eight to ten years.
