A surprisingly tight and focused Barossan here with brooding, reserved aromas of blackberry, chocolate, baked earth and licorice allsorts with rich high quality oak in support. Oak leads right now but will come back with time. It’s then dense, ripe and muscular with oak again soaking up much of the dark, ripe fruits. Underneath there is fruit of exceptional power and length – it just needs time for that oak to come into better balance.
