Gundog Estate The Chase Semillon 2024

The low alcohol – 11% – might suggest an old school style of young Hunter Semillon where acidity rules. Take a deep breath, you are in for a most pleasant surprise. Aromatics are a real feature here in scents of wildflowers, honeysuckle, straw, grapefruit, lemon peel and Meyer lemon. Brings plenty of texture and flavour to the glass in warm citrus tones with lime and green apple. As for acidity, it works so well, filling out across the palate in a juicy explosion. It really gets the gastric juices working. And it’s excellent drinking whether by itself or with food, preferably seafood. So fresh.
