Heartland Dolcetto 2020

A Langhorne Creek cracker! This is an ideal red for those who enjoy a lighter, fresher style, designed for simple drinking pleasure at a price representing top value. The wine spends several hours on skins before 24 hours fermentation at low temperatures. There is no oak here, just fruit and flavour. It spends nine months in stainless steel before cold stabilisation and subsequent bottling. Slightly pale red in colour, this has lovely lifted aromas and is most appealing. Spices, red fruits, cherries, raspberries and a delightful creaming soda note. A soft drink for adults? Surprisingly savoury on the palate, there is plenty of grip and length and, as enjoyable as it is now, no reason it could not see another 2-3 years in the cellar.
