The Ebenezer sub-region of the Barossa Valley is home to a most distinctive style of Shiraz: deeply coloured, full bodied, powerful and warm hearted. In a vintage like 2020 noted for a dry winter and a warm-hot summer, these characters are heightened and then some. They carry into the glass in aromas of earth, bramble, briar, black fruits and spice. Dense in fruit, oak and tannin, this is one of those meal-in-a-glass type big Barossan reds that call out for a steak to accompany it. Obvious and bold, it’s a touch warm to close.
