Rosenthal Garten Mount Barker Chardonnay 2023

This is a classy Chardonnay sourced from Mount Barker. The striking feature is its steely minerality that threads through an intense and crunchy palate. Very good vintage, of course, the use of barrel fermentation, about 12% wild yeast, and subsequent lees stirring over four months has built structure and complexity. Crunchy quince paste and lemon curd on the palate with that keen finishing acidity driving a long finish.
