Holy aromatic bat man, immediately floral and brooding depth of spices and crimson and black fruit. A sweet coconut and vanilla bean oak spice that falls away as the wine opens up over time. True to Aglianico dry sappy tannins and high acidity with a touch of bitterness reminiscent of Fernet, the wine carries the boldness of its fruit but finishes with that structure we love of Italian wines. Amarone drinkers would enjoy the generosity of flavour. A beast. Black garlic anything or scorched BBQ meats, peking duck or beef wellington would be fitting here.
Shanteh cut her teeth at Sydney’s Award-Winning Quay restaurant where she worked for over a decade and was Head Sommelier from 2018 till 2022. She has been nominated for the Good Food Guide Sommelier of the Year award on three occasions and claims that her experience as a Len Evans scholar as one of the highlights of her career.
