Blewitt Springs, given the sub-region’s deep sandy soils, offers a distinctly different style when it comes to McLaren Vale Shiraz.. There is a lifted floral element to the style together with fine tannins that almost melt in the mouth, both features are noted in The Architect Shiraz. Arrives in deep, impenetrable purple hues. Unmistakably peppery with bay leaf blending in with blackberry fruits on the aroma. Follows through with some oomph on the palate, all chocolatey and woodsy spiced oak amid the fruit. Generous and warm, it comes dressed in fine tannins that build. Boasts all the hallmarks for a long life while also serving the needs of those who wouldn’t mind opening a bottle much sooner.
