Flux – something that constantly changes – is a pretty good explanation of life in the vineyard. However, the 2023 vintage in Denmark, Western Australia, was relatively mild with stable weather throughout, so not too much flux which is a good thing during vintage.The result is a rich, layered Chardonnay that flows easily, warmly, wrapping ripe stone fruits, melon and cashew nuttiness around a leesy nougat, woodsy spiced complexity. The combination of ripe fruit, measured oak and racy acidity is well done. This is the kind of Chardonnay that immediately gets you thinking about what to serve for dinner.
