Harewood Estate Reserve Shiraz 2015

Now we are talking. Deep purples here and there is an alluring plushness with depth, complexity and concentration, which comes across on the nose, but follows onto the palate. The wine spent two years in oak, a mix of new and one-year-old barrels, but has sucked it up without a hitch. Black cherries, leather, animal skins, even a hint of bacon fat. Richly flavoured, but is both balanced and elegant. An exciting wine; dense and yet supple. There are also silky tannins to be found with impressive length suggesting a good future here. This is a cracker.
