Heartland Director’s Cut Langhorne Creek Shiraz 2018

Bit of a step back in time to some old school Langhorne Creek Shiraz, in part thanks to the hot 2018 vintage. Bright deep ruby in colour, this instantly announces itself from the first sniff as a big, ripe and fleshy Shiraz rippling with blueberry fruits plus touches of Australian bush and eucalypt, although you need to look hard to find them. It’s then soft and cuddly, the fruit ripe and dense with some oak tannins in much-needed support before it slowly fades. Big red fans will not be disappointed although best enjoyed sooner rather than later.
