This is a brightly lit Riesling of immediate appeal with refreshing energy and mineral tension. Lime cordial, sweet jasmine, green apple, honeydew melon and slatey minerality. A swirl of the glass unlocks lemon rind and flickers of woody spice. The energetic and lifted feel carries through to the palate with green apple, kumquat and lime skin supported by white flowers and gentle spice, before an enveloping line of bright acid and gentle chalky grip frame it up to good length. There’s a lot to like here – it’s fresh, bright and delicious with complexity perhaps belying its price point.
