Pioneer Road Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

From a truly cracking vintage in the Barossa Valley, this wine spent twenty months in a combination of French and American oak. Deep maroon hue, the nose gives us notes of mushrooms, cloves, earth, licorice, soy, black fruits and bay leaves. There is some oak influence evident and the structure is seamless with fine tannins and medium intensity. The flavours are largely upfront and the wine has decent length. Should drink beautifully for at least the next four to six years, likely longer.
