Hesketh Clare Valley Watervale Riesling 2018

Share

Watervale is home to the classic Clare Valley Rieslings with its cooler climate a little bit kinder, particularly for Riesling. In 2018 the Summer was warm which has crafted a bolder wine than usual from Watervale but still with some delicacy hidden away that takes a little time to be drawn out of its shell. It’s also from 2018 and a little bit of bottle age has not hurt either.

It’s pretty classic Watervale – limey and floral, but with just an attractive touch of lanolin from time in the bottle. In the mouth it is dry, crisp and refreshing, but not tart like some young Watervales can be and with plenty of flavour. Will it age? Yes, but why bother as it is a good drink right now.
