Hewitson Barrel 1853 Shiraz Mourvèdre 2019

Share

A very special release. A blend of the best barrel from the Monopole and the best barrel from the Old Garden, each with their roots dating back to 1853 packaged in a formidable bottle with bold and worthy labelling. An incredible olfactory mix of old leaf paper, Dutch licorice, raspberry jube, cassis, blood orange, ground cocoa and ferrous, raw game meat. Effortless, yet remarkable, there is incredible concentration of fruit while maintaining an ethereal lightness the defies its regional moniker. Wonderful herbal edge to the precision and focus. A special wine indeed.
