Hewitson Gun Metal Eden Valley Riesling 2021

There are lots of different takes on Eden Valley Riesling, from the lean, acid driven wines through to softer more user friendly styles. This vintage of Gun Metal sits somewhere in between. It’s immediately recognisable as Eden thanks to a gently floral fragrance which is nicely backed up by citrus and chalk with a slightly riper just ripe pear which provides attractive generosity of fruits. It is followed by a dry and crisp palate, and again there is a slightly riper fruit appeal than usual but the wine still keeps its streamlined shape and fine acid line through to an extended finish. Refreshing and bright, it’s everything you’ll need to match up with salt and pepper crab.
