Hewitson Madame M Blanc & Blanc 2024

Share

Take a bunch of Muscat à Petit Grains grapes and add just 5% Sauvignon Blanc and watch – or rather, taste – the impact such a small amount of the herbaceous one can have. The power of Sauvignon is matched to the delicate sweet florals of Muscat and the result is a wine in perfect tune with Asian food or seafood. The scent is powerfully grassy and herbal with snow pea, honeysuckle florals, green apple and citrus. Previous releases of Madame M were more in the off-dry category, but this time round the flavours are drier, the acidity keener but the attractive herbal spiciness married to citrus and apple notes is still very much on show.
