Higher Plane Fume Blanc 2019

Share

Passionfruit, elderberry, cape gooseberry and white currant on the nose.  The palate has a lovely lemon pith acidity to it which might normally indicate a hardness or edginess to the palate, however it maintains a silky almost viscose countenance, making it a likely brilliant match for food.

This is a concentrated and generous 100% sauvignon blanc from a single block in Forest Grove (southern Margaret River).  The fruit was whole bunch pressed straight to barrel, 100% wild yeast ferment, malolactic fermentation was blocked.  It was aged for 6 months in 10% new barriques, where it was stirred for the first three months to build textural complexity. Vegan friendly.
