Oliver’s Taranga Vineyards Brioni’s Blend 2023

Share

This is a quirky little blend of Mataro, Touriga and Shiraz named for Brioni Oliver, part of the 6th generation trio that are the custodians of this remarkable viticultural legacy. I am besotted by the colour, a gorgeous magenta purple. The aromas are fittingly ‘purple’ – handfuls of freshly picked violets (crushed between the plump fingers of a toddler), fresh blueberries and a seductive vanilla spice. It is supple and ripe with lots of blackberries and more of those blueberries, together supported by fine tannins. So moreish; medium bodied and very juicy, made in an early drinking, food friendly style that also lends itself to being lightly chilled.
