Reschke R-Series Pinot Gris 2021

Share

A good value Pinot Gris sourced from Limestone Coast vineyards, including Padthaway and Wrattonbully. The team sees Padthaway as giving richer, more tropical flavours while Wrattonbully is all about more citrus notes and crisp acidity. The cooler Limestone Coast vineyard gives the wine its apple and pear notes. A light crushing and then the free run juice and pressings are separated for different treatments before later merging. Fermentation for 16 days at 13 to 15 degrees. The best blocks are then blended together for the final wine.

A slight bronzey, yellow colour here. This is classically varietal. If Pinot Gris is your thing then this will most definitely appeal. Pears, citrus, apples and mineral notes. Crunchy acidity. Dry herbs and spices emerge. Decent length is to be found. This is a fine example of Pinot Gris and makes for an ideal style for current drinking.
