Hoffmann Dallwitz Block Zinfandel 2019

This is a single-vineyard in all its glory. It stands as a bold and distinctive expression of the vintage. I had the luxury of exploring its evolution alongside Malaysian cuisine. Aged for four years in new American oak and one year in bottle before release, it reflects a distinctly Californian-inspired winemaking approach. Flamboyant from the outset, it flaunts pronounced aromas of coconut, ground coffee, and vanilla—clear signatures of its oak maturation. On the palate, it is compact and intense, pairing beautifully with Mongolian beef and mushrooms. The upfront fruit concentration delivers a real mouthful, while the medium finish allows layers of dark chocolate to emerge. A second sip reveals notes of blackberry jam and cocoa powder. This is a powerful, seductive wine built for lovers of ripe fruit flavours and oak influenced characters. Drink now through the next three to five years. Only 780 bottles produced.
