A powerful mix of blackberries and rose water. Pomegranate and rhubarb. Some Christmas bush, paper bark and mace spice. Moderate in body, the wine shows its cool climate side with pink peppercorns and dehydrated raspberry dust with long lines of lingering acidity. Other winemakers could be tempted to apply lashing of new oak to bolster the red fruit, but here Bec Duffy stands by what nature has given her, its delicate, crisp and with a lively pulse. Pinot Noir, Gamay and Nero d’Ávola drinkers could all get on board. Á lovely wine for pepperoni pizza or equally with some veal. Drink now or cellar for another 3-5 years.
