Holyman Pinot Noir 2024

An opening of immense impact – one of those ‘oof’ perfumes. Deep heady red rose, black cherry conserve and ground nutmeg kick things off before all of the earthen goodness unfurls with air — forest floor, dewy earth, twigs. Raspberry coulis follows with a swirl of the glass, along with clove and blood orange. It’s very alluring, at once deep and pretty with a velveteen aesthetic. The palate is supple with good flow and balance where everything glides high while staying intense and assured. Red rose, dark cherry, nutmeg, earth, twigs, clove-studded orange, forest floor, raspberry. The tannins are firm and assertive with a tight-grained feel, drawing length and providing anchor to long, even length. There’s a lot to like here — complexity, intensity, texture — and the tannin structure deserves a special call-out. Exceptional.
