Howard Park Museum Release Mount Barker Riesling 2014

Share

Howard Park have a program of museum release wines and with varieties such as riesling it provides a great opportunity to see the remarkable benefits of ageing. This has only just started to move into another phase of its life and has many years ahead of it. There are still traces of youthful lemony citrus characters on the nose and especially the palate. It has a most attractive lifted floral aroma with some fairly typical spiciness. The palate is so precise yet there is plenty of flavour that builds through to a very long finish. And it still has plenty in the tank. In what is a return to historical form for the new release, the label has been refreshed with the original artwork created for the 1986 Riesling by the late artist Denise Bowen – mother to now Howard Park Chief Winemaker Nic Bowen.
