Knee Deep Birdhouse Chardonnay 2023

Thoroughly appealing Margaret River Chardonnay, the fruit here was fermented in a mix of stainless steel (30%) and French oak, both barriques and puncheons, before nine months maturation. The colour is a bright yellow/green, while the nose gives us notes of melon, grilled cashews, stone fruits, florals, peaches and a touch of apricot and orange rind. The oak has integrated well and there is vibrant acidity running the length of the wine to quite a firm finish, which lingers well. This will give pleasure for at least the next three to four years.
