La Palazzina Costa della Sesia Rosso DOC Alto Piemonte 2020

Share

From a single site planted in volcanic soils in the Roacio sub-region of Bramaterra, this is 70% Nebbiolo, 20% Vespolina, and 10% Croatina. Fermented in large old oak and 12.5% abv. Spiced maraschino cherry, dried lavender, roast tomato umami, balsamic, and ferrous notes. Some air clicks everything into place as well as bringing out autumnal damp leaf and deeper umami notes. Very perfumed and detailed aromas. The palate is cooling, fine, and lithe, with notes akin to the nose wrapped up in delicate chalky tannins and a lovely latent acid kick bringing freshness and length. Fine, detailed, and fresh. Very good.
