Leconfield McLaren Vale Shiraz 2023

Share

A brilliant sheen on deep purple hues. This is a wine not shy on oak, revealing its time in French oak hogsheads against a richness of fruit flavour which, happily, helps justify the oak decision. Aromas are high and jump from the glass in an oak-defined pleasures of chocolate, woody spices, earth, cigar box, sage, anise, blackstrap liquorice surrounding black berries. Runs very much in the McLaren Vale Shiraz style with a quiet richness and unctuousness that is immediately appealing. The palate is middle palate rich, there’s a lot of flavour on board finishing with an intriguing black pepperiness that ranges long.
