Chianti, from the heart of Tuscany, is one of the world’s classic wine regions. It’s warm Tuscan climate matched up with Italy’s favourite grape, sangiovese, is a magical combination making both wines for everyday drinking, as well as wines that can drink well for decades.
Here we have a bright and fresh version that explodes with local character. There are bright red cherry and cranberry fruits plus old tobacco and terracotta adding plenty of depth and complexity. It is then dry and mid-weight with zippy acidity and some sandy tannins too that help to draw out a lingering finish. A super introduction to Chianti and a tasty version for everyday drinking, especially with some hard cheese and parma ham.
