Marnong Estate Pinot Noir 2024

Share

Quite frankly, this is one of the best value Pinot Noirs I’ve tasted all year. The craftsmanship in layering flavour, structure, and finesse is exceptional. There’s a vivid interplay of Bing cherries, wild black raspberries, and shiso mint leaf. A touch of fresh oregano lingers, thanks to a portion of whole bunch—an impeccable, Goldilocks-like expression of “just right.” Sinewy tannins hold the wine’s skeletal frame upright, while plump pockets of pomegranate pulp and blood orange bitters swell across the finish. Subtle shades of brown spice—mace and cinnamon—stay neatly within the lines. This wine punches well above its price point and offers a shining preview of what Alex Beckett has in store for this youthful winery. Watch this space—and buy it by the dozen. Drink whilst cooking dinner, munching on the prep and humming a happy tune.
