Marnong Estate Reserve Pinot Noir 2024

Share

Drawn from individual selections of the best parcels and barrels from each season, crafted only in exceptional years. Compelling aromatically, with spice-laden complexity at the fore — cassia bark, nutmeg and sweet cinnamon quill lead to potpourri floral tones, with an unfurling underpinning of red cherry and cranberry fruit and some croissant pastry notes sitting in the background. On the palate, it sits high in the mouth with a supple texture and red fruits leading — red cherry, mashed strawberry, cranberry, allusions of red apple skin, the spice notes more understated but still providing a layer of complexity. A lovely weave of firm-but-fine tannins adds texture and shape, while the red fruits attach to a nice line of acid through a long close. Intensity a minor quibble, but there’s charm and complexity on show, particularly through the perfume.
