A vivid crimson hue in the glass, this wine is pulsating with life—squashed raspberries, bleeding mulberries, and morello cherries spill from the glass. There’s a touch of persimmon and cherry tomato vine, alongside hints of candied ruby grapefruit and pink peppercorn. True to Sangiovese’s form, it opens with dry, sandy tannins—memorable in texture—swiftly followed by a surge of vibrant acidity. You’ll find yourself second-guessing the age of the vines, with juice this promising. Equally suited to a lightly chilled picnic pour or served in a large crystal glass alongside slices of salumi in a fine wine bar. Enjoy it over three to four nights and witness the wine’s evolution—as I did. A word of warning: open it with friends and you’ll watch it vanish before your eyes. This wine is set to do big things over the next decade. Drink now or cellar for another four to five years.
