Marri Wood Park Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Certified Biodynamic from a single site, sandy with gravelly loam and clay on limestone in the northern, warmer part of Margaret River. Mostly barrel fermented, with some undergoing extended maceration for 4 months in amphora. There’s so much appeal here. Musk stick, pastille, violets and blue fruits, black earth and a graphite, nori-type crushed note with a distinct Aussie bush floor, dried herbal lift. Tannins are firm and edge into chewy and silty territory. A vibrant minerality thread and acid line of energy leads towards a persistent finish. I love the freshness and honesty to this wine, full of joy in its youth. Drink it now and be merry, but it has the potential to age to 2035.
