Mitchell Wines McNicol Shiraz Clare Valley 2009

Share

This is what aged Shiraz from the Clare Valley is all about. The wine has great colour for its age, just starting to get a garnet edge before launching into a rich vein of ripe and generous fruits. Blackcurrant and mulberry are now lifted by deliciously savoury leather, spice and baked earth. The palate is then hearty and full-flavoured with well balanced tannins and acidity underpinning dark fruits lifted by ground allspice, fennel seed and truffle before a long and complex finish. A proper aged red that still has some years left in it.
